She used to be my friend,
Now she crosses the street when she sees me
She will not speak to me
And I don’t know why.
Won’t she tell me what I said wrong?
Mummy says some people are like that
But I still feel hurt.

Tyler said:
“I’ve got a lot of ghosts inside me
and they tell me to tell you
that if you tease me, they will
make your life hell when you die!”
We teased him more after that
‘specially after miss had said
it was the most ridiculous thing
she had ever heard.
But I did tell Tyler
he would make a great poet!

I dug up an old penny in the garden.
Grandad said “it’s nowt worth much”.
But it had a kings head on it.
I looked the date up
King Edward the Seventh.
I had to clean the penny up to see it.
It may be “nowt worth much”
But it means a lot to me
Having found it in my garden.

Sophie cracks me up! She is soooooooooooo realistic! Tease him more indeed! lol!
I still have a few “treasures” from my childhood that I dug up somewhere, including a few pennies and a fossilized snail shell.
Warmth of heart? Learning the soul that sins would die, the Son of God died for us. Died in a shameful way, completely without blame on him. For me, for you. Warmth of heart.
Wonderful
Don’t apologize! It was a fantastic quote.
Sophie is my inner child.

I like these.
I hope you are well
Poor Sophie, it IS awful when people suddenly drop you, and never tell you what was wrong. Anyway, I always enjoy Sophie’s poems very much!
nice quotes
Just wanted to wish your Daughter and Granddaughter a happy birthday for the 31st. Hope you get to go to a double party for them this year too.
Give my farewells to the Sarahs.
“I’ve got a lot of ghosts inside me” legions of demons can occupy the non-believer, the believer is already ‘occupied’ with a stronger Spirit and this cannot co-habitate with this evil. I know this is fantasy, but the truth that it implies. . . . you know me, couldn’t resist. Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world (the prince of this current world is Lucifer, Satan whatever name you wish to call the fallen one). I will not return a visit. I myself have stated all that needs to be stated. Doing any more is well, casting pearls before swine. The choice is clear for everyone to make, I was wrong about you.
sophie’s got it right about some people.. although i know of people who won’t take your reasons for refusing friendship seriously and who will still come to batter your door down with their mysteriously threatening ways…
Forgot to leave this: Proverbs 16:25
Not coming back any more Orangeade? Can I say “Good Riddence?” I enjoy Intelligent comments by Christians, but all you do is quote from a book written at a time when men were ignorant savages who did not understand science.
As my old tutor used to write “Could do better!”
I love Sophie’s poems…they are very believable and poignant. you are truly a talent, LP. take care ~jacki
Like Sophie, I had a friend break our friendship and I was devasted and depressed in that I thought there was something wrong with me. After some counseling I was able to say, “She is to be pitied for I am a great friend!”.
yes, even here in California I fear the tropical garden. I hope everything will grow and we won’t get any nasty freezes. Tropical gardens are beautiful, but tempermental.
It is good to be back. Missed getting my Lord pineapple “fix”. Glad that the first thing I saw was Sophie—my favorite!
Aren’t kids the best!! I tell ya, they “see” and understand much more than we adults give them credit for!!
Aye, but it were an adult that wrote ‘em!
RYC: I does feel pretty good, much better than a rental. Thanks for stopping by.

poor little Lucy…I know how she feels (#1)…I have that happen too and I’m not ten…sigh…people hurt…Sassy
thank you Terry….after the craziness of this week Sophie gives me a winsome smile and makes my heart glad. She is such a dear perceptive child…You zinged me again!!!!
Lucy is awesome, her innocence makes me want to dote on her.
The first poem hits home base..though the situation is not exactly as described as in that poem, but I know that feeling. Ahhh…where has the closeness gone to? Sad state of affairs…
Love,
-El
Yay it’s all Sophie on this post! I love her. <3
*sigh* I always love your poems, and I know I tell you that a lot, but it’s because I truly mean it.
Hope you’re taking care, Terry. Be well.
-Sarah
I got a kick out of your post. Sophie always makes me smile. Enjoy the day!
If I spoke in my flesh and not in my Spirit, I might be tempted to call a spade a spade, like filth is filth and no decency from a person who is vile and wicked in his thoughts. You know the first I ‘met’ you on xanga you warned me “I am a dirty old man” well said. And some who read you told me of the retort and well, I couldn’t let it go – angry sure, you are outrageously awful, unkind a very ignorant in this that really matter. Have a nice life.
So, saw a bit of my carnal flesh respond, come now, anger isn’t just given to the non-believers, believers get fiesty from time to time when their dander is raised. In hell? Sorry, won’t be there, not because I don’t deserve it, but because Jesus paid that penalty for me. I do beg your pardon for such an unseemly display of anger.
lol…teased him more. sophie is so innocent and realistic
I just love love love Sophie. Thanks.
Also – Bubble & Squeak arrived in the mail today. Hey Dude – it rocks! Wow!
I love Sophie. I think we can all relate.
wow those poems are from a 10 year old? nice..
poems at heart are an escape of some form just like xanga is I would believe…the venture into other worlds…
