  • Seven Haiku

    ___________

    walking to the trees:

      moon climbing down

         from branch to branch.

    so lonely today:

      goldfish gets

         an extra feed.

    a lonely begger:

      on his blanket,

         a single snowflake.

    on board ship:

      there’s no need to rock

         the baby to sleep.

    arrived home.

      saw the note.

         ate the plums.

    snow

         where sand should be

    ice

      where sea…

    Her programme off.

      Husband home.

                           (Tiffy Witherington).

  • I am going to learn haiku. I have always thought the writing of a poem meant to rhyme restricted what you felt for you had to find a word that rhymed. Maybe this is my outlet?

  • Sooo I can’t cook…does that make me Brittney???  Ugh…u know I can make a volcano errupt though…and catch a dollar bill on fire and not actuallly have it burn…and umm….make a test tube ooze…..does that count????

    Ugh…haha..well anyhow…have a great Saturday..and GOOOOO BUCKEYES!!!

  • … i’ve always liked Haiku, but i’ve never been good at it … these were wonderful ones, though … in reply to your comment: … i’m sorry it took so long to read … and yes, my daughter is a goddess *smiles* but i would say that, i’m her mother … .. … and thank you, though i don’t think i dazzle … maybe shine a bit *smiles* … but thank you *hugs* …

  • i like those … i’m also pleased to see that no one’s bugged you about haiku being 17 syllables and all that, because the japanese often broke that “rule” … and it’s unnecessary in english

  • Again, a work of mastery~from the brilliance of many a fashion and voice~I wonder if you truly realize the treasure you are~

    Blessings~

Postscript} But I am familiar, indeed, with Lord Rochester’s “smart ass” Poetry~as you say~It would be a rare individual who could argue me under the table on the lives and times of Tudor/Stuart England this side of the Atlantic~You are so wonderful~do you know that?

  • Took my breath away
This post of yours surely did
    Divine creation

  • irt~ its funny you should say that, cause the doctor who i too my IQ test with said my brain was made for visual mathematics, but i can’t do more then again i can’t do more then basic math lol, i try not to think to much of how my words come i am kind of just glad that they do,

also i don’t mind that you broke down my writing verse, cause it means you care enough to do so, so thank you lord =)

  • Trust in God
Is that what you think this is all about…
    God’s plan?

it was suppose to be ….like….
you idiots…wake up god isnt planning anything …
    its all about us …
and what we make of the world….and a bloody mess we have made of it….
but alas I suck at this writing thing…..
your haiku mage me hungry…I am off to get some food

  • What I like most about your haiku is how you capture average every day moments.  You snap them like photos so the moments can never be lost.

  • I see you live in Oxford ,I am seeing a bit of that town, as they are doing re runs of ‘Inspector Morse’  on our T.V. at the moment ,and I like him .Pity he had to die  I missed the program where his wife spoke about her life with him .About Haikus unless they follow strictly thr 5.7.5 business. I am not keen. I think my stardust one, was a cinquain but have forgotten what a cinquain has to be now. Thanks for the better remarks last time ,keep writing, cheers Marj
