  • Coming SATURDAY: 5 poems by Jacques du Lumerie.

And my mind is of honey

    And it is a bee-hive

    A place full of pollen

    Full of bees that swarm

In and out of the silences

As if the threads of my mind

    Were a cacophony of flowers

    A waterfall where I wash

Away all of my tired thoughts

And drink the nector of the clear ice-water

That flows off of the rocks

Like the strings of a harp

Full of the sounds that forget

    What all but life is

    And life is of course

Only something that we walk through

    From what was before us

    To what is after us.

And to think that it is more

    Is to hide reality

    Under the pool of honey-water,

And the mead of the mind.

    We who sees other things,

    We who hear other sounds

    Are no different than those

    Who live monochrome lives,

    For we will die too

    Forgotten by the bees

That have moved on to other nector

And water that has gone from the waterfall

    And into the sea.

    Lord Pineapple

Note: The photo is in Border’s Oxford. it says on the sweat-shirt www.LordPineapple.co.uk I stopped the name though they wanted £120 to renew it, so you won’t find anything there.

  • Dear Lord,…I was flowing along even swaying my head gently and rymathically side to side…then I crashed and burned…took a wrong turn at the waterfall…nothing ever dies…it just changes form…even thoes who “see other things”…your name has been showing up in my comments…seems women are craving Pineapple…is that you LORD?blessings to a beautiful mind that has been forever, beckon

  • absolutely breathtaking, i hope my life’s journey is so sweet:)

  • Good very good, why do we have to wait until Saturday Please grow some hair Cheers marj Or put the other pic back ,the bareness is almost too much to look at.

  • I,myself,an imagage woman…it is not I that needs words..my paintbox for the present time assignment…thank you Lord, as always, blessings, beckon

  • Beautiful done,
I do hope you didn’t get into any trouble and now have to spend a couple night in the slammer :) ) Nah I think you are going on a vacation.

  • I love this picture of you in the jester’s hat. very fancy
This is a wonderful Poem, LP, absolutely wonderful!

  • our minds can be worlds unto themselves, how we live there, no one knows unless we share it, some person’s minds are exotic/fantastic places, seeing added dimension and facets in things around them.. but like you say everyone dies and so goes their passions,  visions and dreams.. communications…..

  • I like the picture! (But before we die we will have LIVED unlike the monochromatic people who walk in fog throughout their lives.) And…
“All goes onward and outward, nothing collapses/And to die is different from what anyone supposed, and luckier.” I bet you guessed that I like Uncle Walt. :)

  • like this..

Only something that we walk through
    From what was before us
    To what is after us.
    a truism i believe :)

  • Lovin that pic…Pineapple…
In life for most of us..I think we create through our minds our own truths….
not the truths of others that have come before us…

  • i like the playing and mixing between the images of water and honey.  that reminds me..i’d like a cup of tea.  cheers.  ~jacki

  • “It’s life’s illusions I recall
I really don’t know life at all”–Joni Mitchell

Thank you for writing of bees, nectar, water and life. It resonates :)

  • I love this piece… I always wonder how to stray from metaphor just enough to express something interlaid, and show that there IS something beneath it, but still stay close enough that the poem remains intact, and here I find you’ve done it perfectly.

  • It’s a lovely poem. You will never fade away.

  • Do like the new picture!!  Your mind amazes me!  I use language in a chit-chat way, and you use words in a way that is phenomenal.  In a “that is so true-why didn’t I ever think of it that way” way!

  • P.S.  Got a kick out of your comment.  Believe me, a dildo would be the last thing that particular sister-in-law would have at her garage sale.  Sure gave me a good laugh picturing it, though!!!!

  • I agree with firespider. You’ve captured the metaphor and sentiment in perfect balance. Your poem hummed with resonance. It was so beautifully crafted that it had the lilt of a song. Thank you for sharing.

  • Hello friend…I really like the picture…especially the hat.  I love the poem too…thank you for seeing with different eyes and different ears…you have a good heart.

  • Reminiscent of Swinburne’s “Garden of Proserpina”

“From too much love of living,
From hope and fear set free,
    We thank with brief thanksgiving
    Whatever gods may be
    That no life lives forever;
    That dead men rise up never;
    That even the weariest river
    Winds somewhere safe to sea.”

A high compliment on an equal haunt, I give to you, Lord Pineapple~

    The Profile photograph is great.

    Peace~

  • I love this …the flow..wow.

different layers, yet all intwined to make this worth reading again, and again, discovering a different beat every time.

    xoxo

  • you little honey monster you!

  • :) ooops I forgot the smiley

I’ve just got back from a tiring but otherwise informative talk on leasing property for student accomodation…there was food to eat and food for thought, but reading your poem provided the sweetness I craved this afternoon…:)

  • And so there it is. We who are “the music makers, the dreamers of dreams” (thank you to O’Shaunesy) despite our singled outed-ness in life, are bound for the same road as all the others.

But we make the road better whist we walk it.

I like this picture, Terry. I am afraid when I think of you that is what is going to stick in my mind forevermore.

Good stuff, really. Thought provoking. ~Angie

  • Loved the poem as always…Love that pic!!  woo hoo!!  A Beautiful Mind is a great movie!

  • love rhe new look…why does it not surprise me you look like Chester the Jester…that sits on top my TV and travels with me as times?Your words.personas, and now images as always, stimulating to all sensings…I smile at you LORD…blessings,beckon…p.s.  do you have a scepter also?…with a large pearl on the end?…just curious….Beckon

  • Not a Jester, but The Clown From Clowne. (Clowne in North-East Derbyshire is my home town). www.clowne.co.uk/

  • I like this:

    And life is of course
Only something that we walk through
    From what was before us
    To what is after us.

    So true!

  • Suicide IZ painless

  • well if you can’t go to memories, you can always go to whatever’s presently manifested itself before you. and the easiest to find of just such a thing are the mundane things of life that we overlook so easily. well, ‘least that’s what I think. for instance…ants. I could watch ‘em all day. and if I do it with single-minded concentration and awareness, there’s no end to the joy I could find in it. I guess I’ve kinda answered my own question about “what is it with old people and feeding birds?” Its a simple act, but its the simple things that bring the greatest joy. Or something like that.

Much gratitude for visiting my site so often. I enjoy your poetry and am thoroughly intrigued by this panoply of personas. Peace

    Aloha,

    The Water jar

  • Props for you =)

  • very thought provoking…as usual. that’s a nice pic of you…but when i think of you, i imagine your poetry more than your face.

  • For we will die too
    Forgotten by the bees
That have moved on to other nector
And water that has gone from the waterfall
    And into the sea.

How true- how true. Compliments to this piece.

    Hope you’re back before Sunday.

  • Thank you most sincerely for your advice on open mike and publishing info.

  • A Beautiful Mind is a wonderful movie.
    This is a… wonderful poem
We won’t hear from you until Saturday? well then… okay

  • Chinese poetry huh?  You know, I do love Machi Tawara but I think she is Japanese.

Thanks for the great comments as always creator.  :)

Love the hat you got on your kooky head.  Are you giving a reading in that photo?

    lisa

  • Just lovely it provoked many thoughts in my head but the hat wellll!!!!!!!! Angela

  • Hugs are enthusiastic….touch is a linkage.

  • Hugs are enthusiastic….touch is a linkage.

  • I have never see a pub floor face on either…but I have seen the street…a driveway and a few other choice prime locations for passing out.  That was a long time ago though!

  • Did you write that poem yourself? Sorry about the comment and no e-props. You still have not offended me. Christianity has been used by many people that were not doing good in Gods eyes. Hitler used it as a ploy to kill millions of jews. The twin towers in New York were destroyed ” in the name of Allah” But one should not condemn a religion because of that. These people took the wrong messages out of their religious books. I read it more from a peaceful and modern-day perspective. I am still not offended by your comment.

  • You are too glorious a person….hee the “triplet 3″ of which I spoke is not, in fact, a three headed bird, but rather a kitten at the humane society. Those three headed birds ARE getting to be a nuisance, though. one, or was it three bird(s) flew into my windshield this morning. What a mess, really! The nerve.. . anywhoo, thanks for caring, and understanding my odd little subtle things. Devine.

    Tracy

  • you are right…with the worries and work, we barely have time to relax.

    ~Tika~

  • Terry, you outdo yourself daily.  If there is one thing that I can say….you may have had a stroke, but it did not take away your brilliance.  You’re not crippled, and it makes me sad when you talk of yourself that way.  It’s not like you licked a lightsocket for fun.  You had a stroke, which is not your fault.  And, daily, you prove that it may have actually made you a bit more brilliant.

Thank you for sharing your beautiful mind with us, Terry.

    *hug*

  • im confuused i never even saw your site i was never mean to you! :l thats   a false statement!  please tell me your reasoning i would like to know!

  • What is going on with three_headed_sarahs???  Is this person really as troubled as they seem?  Or are they pulling my two legs?

  • There is more. Jesus Christ who defeated death.

  • Stupid Christians, the more they post the more we go off that nasty little religion.

  • The Three Headed Goliaths’ here. We are looking out for Terry’s sites whilst he is away. We blocked EminimRevenge, we block EVERY user who gives us zero props. If they can go to so much trouble, then so can we. Pee off zero-propers!

  • Ah, yes, but it’s a nectar-trip while it lasts!

  • Is that you, reading? You’re not the way you describe yourself at all! Rather nice Clowne hat, if I may say.

  • Love the new profile picture.  :)

  • It is almost Saturday here…will have to return soon I see

  • Very well done. One thing though.
    Full of bees that swam
should that be swarm instead of swam? Just curious.
      Cirse

  • Honestly, me Lord….I dont drink.  Maybe once a year around my birthday!  But in no way am I against it, unless your driving, of course.

  • Yes Terry we are temporary pilgrims on this earth an honey and waterfall will remain Why dont you put a title at this wonderful poem so rich in images ?

    In friendship         Michel

I knew too in the past the coal land in the far past . No castles of course but a special spirit .

  • Peaceful. I almost wish it was set to music…seems like it might be nice to meditate to.

  • ::sigh:: A lot to think about…

    ~Leah

  • Terry- isn’t 63 comments enough to get you back here and give us a new masterpiece to read? Wow- you are quite the celebrity around these parts. I officially bestow upon you the name:

    “LORD OF THE (blog) RINGS”

(maybe a new alias for you?)

  • Great pic! It reminds me of one I have of my grandson at a local amusment park.

“In and out of the silences” — Love that line!

  • Ouch! At first I enjoyed swimming around in the honeyed waterfall, but then you slapped me upside the head with my own mortality…”We…Are no different than those Who lead monochrome lives”. I wasn’t expecting that at all! I need to tell myself from time to time that it’s the journey, not the destination. Thanks for reminding me!

  • Btw, the new pic is great!
