I was way too fat
To squeeze into the rabbit hole.
“Too bad! Too bad!”
Muttered the rabbit,
And it vanished from sight.
So I never got to see
The Queen Of Hearts.

Will I ever be like Maisie,
Stuck at home
With a lot of kids,
A man Inside*
Money-lenders at the door?
I hope I’ll never be
So sad and so poor.

The publisher-editor know who wrote them, but that info will not appear in the magazine!
Banter is a very relative word.

All three temendous!
Poor little fat girl – on the other hand, Alice’s adventures were quite trying and, all things being equal, I think I’d rather have a nice chocolate bar too.
Precocious child, our Sophie. I hope you told the rabbit that you were NOT too fat … the hole was too skinny! (Rabbits are none too bright, so we have to point these things out to them).
i think you decided then that you would never be like Maisie.
Well those are good ones for some magazine readers. That last one was sad indeed.
I love the childlikeness of those poems. Reminds me of things I read as a little girl.
I enjoyed your poems!
Thank you for the nice comment about my daughter being shy. I guess that is a good thing when you put it that way. This growing up business is a long process.
im not to positive about what your comment meant but rock on! lol
Oh, Sophie Lucy, I was a chubby little girl who was never picked to be on anyone’s team so I would take a sandwitch from my lunch bucket and eat it whilst reading. That satisfied me at the time! (It also made me chubbier!)
random question…how old are you???
i like the first one the best!
Hello, sir! I know nothing about poetry, so . . .
Just wanted to say, I don’t know what gave you the idea that I was leaving, but I’m glad you stopped in to check, anyway!
i wonder if sophie has ever heard of TrimSpa? just kidding…the 1st one was the best, and the bananna one sounds like something i would have said when i was that age…sigh…how quickly the days are numbered…..
i liked them all…i like you all…all of the you’s…
yes I try to read as much as I can!!!!! @-}-}-
