  • Well, all the tests are through. I have a serious liver complaint. Painful, but nothing to stop any plans for this summer! (btw I have never been a big drinker)

Leaving new entry, will catch up with your blogs in between sleeping spells.

“Sometimes I want to run away from what is real, this is one of those times, so welcome to the land of fantasy…or is it?” Sophie.

    ————–

    I trapped the moon

    In a balloon

And took it off to school.

And when I popped the balloon

    There was the moon

    That went “boo!”

    ————–

    I heard God

    Speak on my i-pod

    And He said to me

“Make us a cup of tea!”

    So I brewed a cup

    To see God sat up,

He was turning all my pencils

    Into little gold angels.

    —————

    “Flying Fish”

The fish flew over the trees,

It was glad to be free,

It did not at all pine for the sea

As it soared through the sky.

    Birds looked at it

    Cats looked at it

    i looked at it

    But it did not care.

    “Flying is better than frying!”

    The fish joked

As it carried on flapping it’s gulls

    Until it was

    Far, far away.

    So far away

    That no one believed me

    When I told them

That I saw a fish in the sky.

    Sophie Lucy Morgan (aged 10)

    ———-

    A Poem.

    The lady told us off

Cos we were outside her gate talking.

If people has no respect for us kids

Then why should we respect them?

Why should we be nice to an old bully,

After all, I have seen her

    Talking outside people’s gates.

    ——

    Sophie Lucy Morgan, aged 10

    Haiku:

    I glared at the cat…

    And looking at me,

    It dropped the bird.

  • Little Sophie… if more children could be like her, the world would be a happier place. If a child will lead, then the places she would take us would be worth the visit, even for a little while. May we grow up to be just like her.

Now that suits me just fine….teach me how to do that!!!!!!

  • Sophie is a wonder. A 10 year-old who makes more sense than those twice her age.

    Flying is better than frying.
    I couldnt agree more.

flying – the wind across your face
frying – the heat across your face.

  • I have always enjoyed posts from Sophie. The way she connects things … that previously to me had no association … wonderful.

I hope you feel better soon.

  • sounds like your cat is more polite than mine with birds…
and i love the one with god and the ipod. mostly cause i think i might want an ipod but i don’t know exactly what i would do with one… but if god speaks threw them then there’s obviously a reason why i need one now

  • ps. hope the liver gets to feeling better. there are many reason’s your liver may not be doing well and it doesn’t have to be from alcoholic beverages. take for instance all the drugs they come out with now for foot fungus or mental thingies…. they all could cause liver problems… and 4 hour erections…. and in any case might need to be checked out. my attempt at humor… sorry if it wasn’t.

  • Sure do hope you’re not in too much pain, my dear! Rest, yes, rest and write. These Sophie poems are so pure as to be almost visionary. The clarity of the codeine-induced… or what pain does to the consciousness? Please take good care of yourself, you’re important, not just to your family and friends, but to us too! *hugs xo

  • I hope your liver complaint will be gone soon.

  • Hey, I love humour!

    be back for you all.

  • Sweet, sassy Sophie!!  But, I think I am glad I never had a daughter like her—she would make me feel so insecure—so much wisdom in such a young body!!  More wisdom than I have even now!

  • glad that it is treatable and will not effect your plans…

  • Tell Sophie that we all feel that way sometimes. Her words create such vision …………

  • I am sorry to hear about your liver….and hope the pain isn’t to terrible.  Sending positive thoughts your way!!!

  • Sweet Sophie ‘innocence’
    Quotes reality honestly
Takes the cap off the universe
    Imagination set free!

Glad to hear that it is liver trouble, rather than the worst case scenerio. Rest up-feel better and keep your humor about you! Love Sophie very much-hehehehehe! <3

  • i write mostly
    in private now…
    couldn’t take the critisims
    of the publics’ words
    …but, i am still here
    writing words to my “dear”
    and watching them fall
    into his deaf ears…
    …and i have missed
    your genius, too
    lord p…
    age 10, nails
    life on the head…
    pity our old thoughts
    continue to age…
    hail! hail!
    and here’s to the
    fountain of youth!

  • Sophie sounds like she’s got it all figured out! I wonder if she’ll still feel that way when she’s an adult?

  • I’m always glad to see Sophie’s work…or is it play?

I think the one I liked best was the one with the fish.

Hope your liver is complaining less for you!

  • Oh no sir, youre not thick. not at all.

I put a lot of metaphors in here. My imagination went wild the time i wrote it. Scenes after scenes. Reading the piece carefully, Im sure youll get what i mean.

Well if you dont, Im sorry for the confusion.

  • Well, now I know why you didn’t come to visit me!

Sorry to hear about your liver…..rest up and hope you feel better soon!

@~~~~8~~~~~ (A rose I picked from the Xanga garden! lol)

  • heheh, LordP…. you’re amazingly fabulous….. from God to animals to having respect for kids…. very creative mind there, a treasure trove indeed.

Take care, hope you’re well, my dear….. rest plenty….hugs for you

    Elle

  • Don’t let Sophie grow up, we would miss her spontaneity and innocence. RITA.

  • I have no complaints on liver . I had a wonderful grilled onions and liver ! ~Thoughts through the looking glass~ Hope you are having a great day!
    Karolyn   @-}-}-
    Enjoyed my visit here!

  • Great blog LP! Sorry to hear about your liver problem. Is there anything they can do for you? Happy sleeping!

  • Im sorry to hear about your liver diagnosis, i hope they can find something to help you with. I truly enjoy Sophie’s imagination and the way she penned her words !! Reading your Haiku it reminded me of mine which i penned 2 days ago *giggles* a bored woman whose mind wanders elsewhere when her pc gone bust on her

Hope you have slept well !!!

  • the moon in a balloon and a flying fish
and a young girl’s take on respect
is beauty enough to fulfill my wish
and is all that I could expect

    you never let me down
    you beautiful, liver troubled clown

  • My ex drank like a fish (than never flew, unfortunately), and when he died, his liver was fine…

…strange world in which we live…

I’m sorry to hear you have more troubles but happy they aren’t interfering with your plans!  Terry The Great to be on our soil!  Woohoo!  (from the Mericans)

    I love you…GFW

  • I love the fanstastic words of Sopihe. I also love God sitting in an Ipod. It somehow seems very reasonable.

  • I’m sorry to hear of your liver complaints, I certainly hope you feel better soon.

I am glad the cat dropped the bird. Although, I suppose it is already dead so the cat might as well eat it.

  • fish have been doing a lot of flying over the past months  one has to be careful  for they may crash into the ceiling of heaven and bring the whole  she bang   ~ down  hope u feel better soon and glad this ailment did not stop ur plans   very nice pieces today  ~ always magi    ps i heard God over my ipod too   he is quite wordy at times ~ and has yet to come to tea ~ m

  • I like the haiku.

And yes, a little care would certainly improve some things. Ahh well. I’m not always good at caring.

    -Jos-

  • Were all of these done by Sophie? She is quite the talent for such a young age. Reminds me of myself. Encourage her to keep at it, don’t let it die as I did. Take care! Oh, I tried putting that pic up as my background and you see what I got. Someone even told me how to do it and I still can not get a pic. Oh well.

  • Sending thoughts for your health…glad nothing to keep you from coming to the US for a bit of excitement.  Nancy

  • no they were not done by a Sophie but by me!

  • I loved Sophie’s poems. The fish one really stands out to me.  I don’t think I will easily forget the imagery, that’s for sure!

I am sorry to hear about your liver but with the right diet you should be ok, I imagine.

Regarding your comment about my photograph, thank you. That is very sweet of you to say Terry.  I have lost a lot of weight since that photograph.  I was mistaken recently for 25.  I must be doing something right.  I think getting out of NYC is going to have some wonderful effects on my health.

  • The lying fish and old lady poems are the most believable from her.  I adore the “Hey I saw something but no one believes me” angle.

  • RYC: If I had the resources to be able to meet up with you when you’re here in the US, I would get you to do a raindance with me to bring forth rain and then viola!…a fun time would be had getting drenched! lol

    @~~~~8~~~~~

  • LP, Oh PSHAW, you have a right to your opinion on our politics! Foreign countries are able to look at our farce of an administration objectively, and see the devastation bush has caused. There will always be curmudgeons, but we all have a right to our opinions! Don’t let them detract you from having your say! <3 and hugs

  • P.S. Loved the haiku you sent! Thanks. L.

  • I’m sorry you are sick.   I hope you feel better soon.

  • Sorry to hear of your illness. Hope you feel better soon. Little Sophie has her own special sunshine .. I love the last peice

  • Sorry to hear your not feeling well. Take care of you!
I Always love to hear from Sophie!

  • I’m glad things aren’t more serious and I wish for you better health and comfort down the road. It’s great that you can still proceed with summer plans. The poems and haikus are, as always, marvellous!

    Have a wonderful weekend!

  • Sorry about your liver, luckily the liver is one organ that can regenerate itself. I once had 98% of something  wrong with my liver .I had to have scans and was ill for a time , then i developed viral pneumonia ,and then was left with Chronic fatigue Syndrome. After it was all over and no anti biotics, i am allergic to most, my liver was right down to a really low level, which is good. now when i have a bloood test i always ask my doctor How’s my liver, he always says not too bad ,which infuriates me, I would like to know the number. I am sure if you take things easy, you will recover ,and be able to take your holiday, God willing, and that from someone who isn’t sure she believes. Love marj

  • “so far away, that no one believed me when I told them that I saw a fish in the sky”  I liked this line, it reminded me of the old childhood game what-does-this-cloud-look-like. It also made me sad for it shows how limited people’s imaginations really are when compared to children. So limited in fact that they often cannot accept truths.

  • Pencils into golden angels . Yes , yes , yes , beautiful. Hope you are feeling better LP :)

Thanks for dropping in and right you are keeping up with politics at home , much less abroad is tedious lol

    Peace and Love :)
